MANUEL LOUZADA – Arinzano – CEO – Spain
Manuel was born in Portugal within a four-generation family of wine growers. At 5 years old, he discovered his passion about wine when he used to explore Caves Messias wineries with his grandfather.
Driven by his passion, Manuel decided to work in the wine industry and obtained a master in winemaking after graduating in agricultural engineering. In 1997, he started his career elaborating Porto wines where he became the head of winemaking.
In 1999, he settled in Argentina to elaborate sparkling and still wines. In 2002, he was appointed director of Winemaking of Chandon, Terrazas de los Andes and Cheval des Andes.
After 10 years in Argentina, the 2008 harvest offered him the opportunity to return to his roots, taking the position of Winemaker and General Manager of Numanthia Winery, being also responsible for the wine quality monitoring program at Moët Hennessy.
In 2015, Manuel’s life took a significant turn by entering into an exciting project, Propiedad de Arínzano, the First PagoWine of the Northern Spain. Gran Vino Blanco 2010 was the wine that allowed him to feel the full potential that this Pago could offer. Since then he has been the President/CEO and Chief Winemaker of Tenute del Mondo, SPI Group, shareholder of Tenute di Toscana and owner of Achaval Ferrer and Propiedad de Arínzano, where it continues to nurture its enormous passion for wine.
